I am a mother of four, a partner of almost 10 years, and the Founder and Executive Director of Women That EmpowHER (WTE). My journey to starting WTE is deeply personal. Growing up and even throughout my adult life, there were times when I needed support, guidance, and simply someone to tell me that everything was going to be okay. I didn’t always have that, and because of it, I went through difficult situations and made many mistakes while trying to figure life out on my own. Those experiences are a huge part of why I created Women That EmpowHER. I saw a need in my community, but I also recognized pieces of my younger self in the girls who needed someone in their corner. I wanted to create the type of support I wish I had growing up—a safe space where girls can be heard, supported, encouraged, and reminded that their circumstances and mistakes do not determine their future. Today, I use both my personal experiences and my passion for helping others to make sure girls know they do not have to figure everything out alone.
