Kari Barber (she, her)

Arizona Small Dog Rescue, Foster Coordinator

As a current ASU student pursuing a Master's degree in Nonprofit Leadership and Management with an emphasis in animal welfare and juvenile rehabilitation, Kari has a focus on making a progressive impact on Arizona's most vulnerable youth and homeless pets. With over six years of animal welfare experience and an educational background in juvenile justice and delinquency, Kari is determined to introduce an alternative program that incorporates vulnerable youth and dogs at-risk of being euthanized. She currently works as the foster coordinator for Arizona Small Dog Rescue and serves on the board of directors for the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network of Phoenix prioritizing her time between membership recruitment and special events. Aside from her dedication to school, work, and the community, Kari enjoys writing and playing music in her band, going to local concerts, and spending time with her two children. As a Wyoming native, she was raised to be a free-spirited trailblazer who enjoys the simpler things in life and to live in the moment.
