Kamy Davis

B.S. Psychology Student, Arizona State University

Kamy was born in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois, but has lived in North Phoenix, Arizona for 24 years. Kamy is a disabled person who is in her final year at Arizona State University where she is working on her BS degree in Psychology with a minor in Disability Studies. She is also a part of Barrett, the Honors College at ASU, where she is currently working on her thesis which focuses on social stigmas of disability representation in the mental health field and community. Kamy’s experiences as a disabled person witnessing the inaccessibility and systemic barriers in Arizona’s medical and mental health communities, taught her the need for self-advocacy. She intends to be a licensed therapist in the state of Arizona after grad school. Being a Psychology student, she has exposure to many topics of the mental health/psychology field and plans to utilize that knowledge and help expand future research. Kamy continually looks to improve her own activism and ways that she can advocate for the disabled population in the Psychology field. Most recently, Kamy completed her volunteer hours as an Inclusivity & Accessibility Assistant.
